Employee well-being has emerged as a critical component of sustainable organizational development in contemporary workplaces. As organizations increasingly adopt sustainability-oriented strategies, the well-being of employees is recognized as a key factor influencing long-term organizational performance, productivity, and resilience. This study aims to examine the relationship between employee well-being and sustainability through a thematic literature review of existing scholarly research. Relevant literature was identified through major academic databases using keywords related to employee well-being, sustainable human resource management, workplace sustainability, and employee engagement. The selected studies were systematically analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns and conceptual relationships within the literature. The review revealed four dominant themes: sustainable human resource management practices, work–life balance and flexible work arrangements, leadership and organizational culture, and employee engagement in sustainability initiatives. The findings indicate that organizations that prioritize employee well-being through supportive human resource practices, flexible policies, and ethical leadership are more likely to achieve sustainable organizational outcomes. Furthermore, employee engagement plays a crucial role in linking well-being with sustainability initiatives. The study contributes to the growing body of research on sustainable organizational practices by synthesizing fragmented literature and highlighting key themes that connect employee well-being with long-term sustainability. The review also identifies research gaps and suggests directions for future studies on sustainable workplace practices.
